Project Overview
Project - Oracle EBS Upgrade from 12.2.6 to 12.2.15.
Good to have technical knowledge using PL/SQL tool.
Required Qualification
Experienced one or two Oracle EBS 12.2.14 or 12.2.15 Upgrades - end-to-end implementations.
- Understand & Document the Current Landscape
- Dive into the existing systems: Identify what applications and understand current processes.
- Create system maps, inventories, and documentation for easy reference by the team.
- Lead Design Sessions & Prepare for Upgrades (DEV1, DEV2, SIT, UAT)
- Organize and run techno-functional design meetings; engage business users for feedback.
- Build sample RICEF (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms) components to showcase how the system will work.
- Collect user test cases and perform full functional testing.
- Documentation & Signoff Preparation
- Draft and refine technical documents: specs, validation scripts, risk assessments.
- Participate in reviews, work towards signoffs with business stakeholders.
- Create a checklist- Such as input formats, error handling, audit logs, etc for each upgrade.
- Scripts for Validation
- Design scripts to validate data. Test scripts with sample data; peer review to catch issues early.
- Run one of process batch jobs.
- Prepare for SIT, UAT & Go-Live
- Prepare test data for System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Set up mock runs for go-live cutover, ensuring sequence and dependencies are clear.
- Real-life note: A common snag in large teams is testing environment mix-ups - keep communication open with the functional team.
- SIT & UAT Support
- Be on standby to troubleshoot issues during testing phases.
- Track defects, fix issues quickly, and update documentation as needed.
- Cutover & Hypercare Support
- Work with business on cutover plan.
- Take active part in final cutover, ensuring all data and interfaces move smoothly.
- Proactive during hypercare (immediate post go-live phase), respond fast to user issues.
- Set up a war room chat/channel with core team members for instant collaboration.
- Knowledge Transfer
- Document lessons learned. Share this knowledge with your teammates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
