Security Network Automation Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a Security Network Automation Engineer to support a rapidly growing organization within the technology and services industry. The role involves enhancing network security posture, automating operational processes, and supporting large-scale infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures with a focus on routing protocols including BGP and related networking standards
• Automate network and security workflows using Python, APIs, and modern automation frameworks
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) templates to streamline configuration and deployment across environments
• Ensure compliance with NIST standards and other industry security frameworks while supporting audits and documentation efforts
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux‑based systems utilized in network and automation operations

Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience in network engineering, network security, or network automation
• Strong understanding of BGP, routing, switching, and core networking protocols
• Experience with NIST security standards and related cybersecurity frameworks
• Proficiency with Linux systems administration in production environments
• Advanced Python scripting skills for automation and integration
• Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure network architecture best practices
