Ensemble Health Partners is a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems. The Senior IT Epic Implementation Project Manager will lead end-to-end Epic software implementations, ensuring rigorous delivery and coordination across various teams while managing executive-level client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead full lifecycle Epic implementations from initiation through go-live and post-live stabilization, managing implementations of significant scope (multi-module, multi-site, or concurrent deployments)
- Serve as the primary implementation delivery owner and accountable point of contact for client-facing project execution, partnering closely with Epic Services Readiness and Technical resources
- Develop and manage detailed project plans encompassing Epic build, application, integrated, and charge testing, user acceptance testing, data conversion, end-user training, cutover planning, and go-live execution
- Manage client expectations and delivery commitments across executive, operational, and technical stakeholder audiences
- Ensure all Epic implementations align to and fully satisfy Epic Standard Operating Model (SOM) requirements
- Own formal SOM completeness validation as a defined exit criterion from implementation to optimization and support
- Identify and drive resolution of SOM gaps in partnership with Product and Operations teams prior to transition
- Coordinate delivery across Epic Services, Technology, Readiness, Operations, and Product teams, operating effectively in complex matrixed environments
- Partner with Partnership Success to align client communication strategies, manage escalations, and protect client relationships during critical delivery phases
- Facilitate executive-level steering committee meetings and present implementation status, risks, and milestone updates to senior leadership
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and scope changes across the full implementation lifecycle
- Maintain comprehensive RAID logs; escalate critical issues with recommended resolution paths
- Manage change control processes to protect scope integrity while maintaining client confidence and timeline commitments
- Execute implementations in accordance with Epic PMO standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks
- Actively contribute to the development and refinement of implementation playbooks, templates, cutover runbooks, and best-practice documentation
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior project managers and implementation coordinators as needed
- Serve as a subject matter resource for Epic implementation best practices across the EPMO
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 7–10+ years of hands-on Epic implementation project management experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior or lead PM capacity
- Deep Epic revenue cycle implementation expertise, including demonstrated experience with modules such as HB, PB, Resolute, Prelude, or related financial/clinical workflows
- Proven track record managing complex, multi-module or multi-site Epic implementations from initiation through go-live and stabilization
- Experience managing cross-functional delivery across both technical and operational stakeholder groups
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills; ability to lead steering committee discussions and manage escalations effectively
- Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget on implementations with significant organizational impact
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and the management of teams using AI to lean in to process and technological improvements, to include the exploration, experimentation, and application of AI
- This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require
- Active Epic certification(s) in relevant modules (Revenue Cycle, Ambulatory, Inpatient, or comparable)
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification
- Experience operating within enterprise integration or health system transition environments
- Prior experience contributing to or developing PMO standards, playbooks, or governance frameworks
