Theoris is a people-centered company dedicated to fostering personal and professional growth, seeking a DevOps Engineer to enhance their delivery pipelines. This role focuses on modernizing infrastructure, mentoring developers, and implementing best practices across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead forward‑looking initiatives to improve security, efficiency, automation, and scalability across systems and workflows
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and training to developers—helping them adopt DevOps best practices, secure pipeline structures, and containerization workflows
- Define the DevOps roadmap and overall technical vision; provide leadership and guidance on standardizing pipelines and modernizing the environment
- Engage with teams to gather requirements, make recommendations, and help drive initiatives across the finish line
- Advise on and apply DevOps best practices across the full lifecycle—including infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, and operations
- Implement, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines—preferably Bitbucket Pipelines, Azure Artifacts, and/or AWS equivalents
- Manage build and deployment processes including source control branching strategies, Bitbucket, Azure Artifacts, Jenkins, Maven, Archiva, build automation, and continuous integration
- Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues; support rollback, incident response, and disaster‑recovery procedures
- Drive and advance containerization efforts; help architect and build out container-based systems
- Work across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud environments with a strong emphasis on security
- Provide guidance on container security, IAM, vulnerability scanning, and secure software supply chain practices
- Use Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools to monitor, diagnose, and improve application performance
- Interpret real‑time metrics such as latency, error rates, and resource utilization to ensure system reliability and optimization
- Help transition from an unintegrated DevOps stack (on‑prem Jenkins, GitLab, Fisheye) to a unified Bitbucket Pipeline environment
- Provide structure, leadership, and mentorship to establish standardized, secure pipeline architecture
- Create scalable, automated solutions for artifact management (Azure preferred, AWS acceptable)
Requirements:
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Minimum 5 years of DevOps Engineering experience
- Strong, stable career history (no significant job hopping)
- Extensive experience with artifact management platforms—Azure preferred, AWS acceptable
- Strong experience building DevOps pipelines (Bitbucket Pipelines highly preferred)
- Hands‑on containerization experience, including designing and building containers
- Linux platform experience, with the ability to answer in‑depth Linux questions
- Cloud experience in AWS or Azure (Azure preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train developers, gather requirements, build trust, and lead teams
- Ability to see the big picture and create a DevOps roadmap for organizational maturity
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
- CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Bitbucket Pipelines (ideal)
- Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog
- Version Control: Git, Git workflows
- Security: Container security, IAM, vulnerability scanning
- Bitbucket Pipelines experience would be a 'home run.'
- Prefer experience using AI tools
