Software Engineer III, Community Builders

Reddit is a community of communities, built on shared interests and trust, and is home to a vast number of active communities. They are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to contribute to building and enhancing their products, focusing on creating scalable and reliable systems that serve community builders' needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend application services while ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of our systems
• Work collaboratively with product managers, designers, data scientists and other engineers to deliver high-quality products
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be writing design docs and code, and get valuable feedback on your work
• Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative or computer science-related field
• 2+ years of software engineering experience in a scalable computing environment
• A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial spirit. You are self-directed, innovative, and biased towards action in fast-paced environments. You love to build new things and thrive in ambiguity and can easily navigate failure
