About this role
Lago is a leading open-source billing platform on a mission to simplify billing for SaaS companies. They are seeking a Software Engineer, Infrastructure to own and scale their infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and security while collaborating with engineers to improve deployment processes.
Responsibilities:
- Own and scale Lago’s infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security
- Design and automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
- Optimize databases (PostgreSQL, Clickhouse) for high availability and performance
- Improve monitoring and observability, ensuring proactive detection and resolution of issues
- Enhance security practices, from IAM policies to data protection strategies
- Collaborate with engineers to improve deployment processes and DevOps best practices
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles
- Expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
- Experience managing and scaling PostgreSQL in production
- Proficiency in Ruby or Go (or willingness to learn)
- Passion for open-source and infrastructure-as-code principles
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving startup environment

- Experience with open-source projects or developer tools
- Strong background in security and compliance for cloud applications
- Prior experience in metering, billing, or fintech infrastructure
