Vantage Data Centers is a leader in data center design and operation, and they are seeking an Automation Systems Governance Engineer to ensure compliance and quality across all automation systems. The role involves collaborating with various teams to define governance frameworks and maintain standards for automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Audit and track PLC/SCADA coding standards, tag-path conventions, and system documentation practices
- Update, track, and audit documents of the Automation Systems teams via workflow process
- Partner with Engineering and Delivery teams to ensure new projects align with approved automation standards and governance checkpoints
- Help track non‑compliance findings and follow up on corrective actions
- Verify that automation designs follow internal standards (naming conventions, safety requirements, electrical design rules, etc)
- Coordinate with IT and OT Security teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards (e.g., NIST, ISA/IEC 62443)
- Maintain an automation risk register, tracking technical debt, obsolescence, and non-conformance findings
- Assist senior engineers in revising standards based on new technologies or field learnings
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Ignition (by Inductive Automation) software platform is required
- 1 year of experience in Industrial Automation SCADA development required, 2 to 3 years of preferred
- Knowledge of automation systems (control loops, field IO, etc.) in a mission critical environment
- Knowledge of industrial PLC systems manufactured by Rockwell Automation & Carel
- Proficiency with MS Office, and MS SharePoint
- Travel required is expected to be 25% but may increase over time as the business grows
- Data Center experience is strongly preferred but not required
- Experience with GitHub
- Experience with ClickUp
- Documentation experience
- Creating detailed procedures
- CAD experience
