Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Contract

Sound Physicians is a nationally respected, physician-led medical group that is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a contract position. The role involves automating and maintaining various tests, providing technical support for test automation, and ensuring quality in software testing efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Automating integration testing including events on Azure Event Hubs, API test and UI tests
• API testing with a tool like Postman
• Testing SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, preferably with SQL Server
• Requirement analysis, test design and execution
• Knowledge of QA methodology, practices, and different types of testing e.g. functional, regression, integration, data validation, performance, exploratory etc
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrates the ability to keep at it even when obstacles or challenges are present; returns to the work at hand after a change of course
• Proactive willingness to utilize available information and tools to figure things out
• Demonstrates the ability to jump in and start a task or project with limited direction
• Demonstrates the ability to look at the big picture and proactively develop a plan of action
• Proactively seek to work with others to accomplish a common goal. Willingness to share challenges and successes with others

Requirements:

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization
• Test automation knowhow on an agile software development team
• Automating integration testing including events on Azure Event Hubs, API test and UI tests
• API testing with a tool like Postman
• Testing SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, preferably with SQL Server
• Requirement analysis, test design and execution
• Knowledge of QA methodology, practices, and different types of testing e.g. functional, regression, integration, data validation, performance, exploratory etc
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of software test automation experience
• 5 years of API test automation
• 3 years with SQL preferably with SQL Server
• Experience automating integration or end to end system testing
• Experience with Playwright preferred
• Experience with Python preferred
