Microsoft is a leading technology company offering an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager (Contract) to join their dynamic business planning team. The role involves serving as a liaison between business planners and stakeholders, providing essential project management support for pricing discussions and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing pricing discussions by utilizing existing frameworks, validating data, verifying pricing accuracy, and driving alignment across teams
- Provide launch operational process support including Control Tower card updates, Change Request management, pre-production ICM creation and updates, and Change Summary validations
- Facilitate the exception process when launches miss scheduled dates and assist with the meter minting process and reporting for software engineers
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder meetings, leadership reviews, and team syncs while serving as a liaison to relay important updates and advocate for resource prioritization
- Attend launch-related meetings on behalf of business planners and share relevant information across teams
- Create and update project trackers to monitor projects not yet in Control Tower, identifying needed signoffs and reviews
- Partner with business planners to monitor and coordinate topics for regular standing reviews with executive leadership
- Follow new developments, share best practices, and support coordination of strategic team initiatives
- Connect new business planners to critical resources and key stakeholders to facilitate onboarding and integration
- Provide general project management support to ensure all stakeholders remain informed of project status and blockers
Requirements:
- 4-8 years of project management experience
- 4-6 years of experience with data analysis and synthesis
- 4-6 years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- 4 years minimum of experience with product launches and project management software
- Background in software or technology industry, particularly with large enterprise technology companies, strongly preferred
- PMI Certification required
- US Citizenship required due to direct work with the US Federal Government
- Knowledge of software industry products, services, and applications preferred
- Data analysis and synthesis using Excel and PowerPoint
- Cross-functional collaboration with multiple teams and stakeholders in matrixed environments
- Product launch management and proficiency with project management software tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Risk analysis and mitigation planning
- Analytical thinking with ability to understand complex concepts and situations
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data validation and documentation
- Master's degree preferred but not required; relevant experience is most important
