
Job Title: Unit Clerk
Department: Inpatient Nursing Unit
Reports to: Inpatient Manager

Job Summary:
The Unit Clerk provides front-line administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient patient admissions, transfers and discharges. This role is vital in maintaining the daily activities of the Inpatient Unit while upholding hospital policies and confidentiality standards.

Environmental and Physical Requirements:
The employee works in a temperature-controlled environment. Employees should be able to lift to 50 pounds using proper lifting technique several times during their shift. Employees may transport patients via cart or wheelchair using a push/pull force of 30 lbs as much as 20 times per day. Bending, stooping, and reaching as much as 200 times per day. There is potential for contact with chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and exposure to infectious disease. You must be able to see, read and write.
