LMI is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst with experience in Microsoft Power Platform to support data analysis, reporting, and application development efforts for a major office at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This role focuses on supporting data-driven decision-making through dashboard development, data validation, and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Perform data entry, validation, and basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of datasets
- Assist with user testing activities and document issues for tracking in tools such as Jira
- Support backlog activities by capturing requirements, enhancements, and bugs
- Create and update reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support program reporting needs
- Use Excel (including formulas and basic data manipulation) for analysis and reporting support
- Work with team members and client stakeholders to understand data needs and support solution development
- Assist with project tracking tasks, including updating status reports and schedules
- Identify and escalate data issues or inconsistencies to senior team members
- Support the creation of documentation, user guides, and standard operating procedures
- Stay familiar with Power Platform tools and apply standard practices in daily work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, or similar roles
- 1-3+ years of experience with Power BI required
- Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI preferred; Power Apps/Automate a plus)
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and basic data analysis
- Basic experience with data querying or transformation tools (e.g., Power Query, SQL)
- Familiarity with Jira or similar tracking tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow direction in a team environment
- A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Experience supporting federal or government clients
- Familiarity with healthcare or program evaluation data
- Exposure to Power BI dashboards and reporting
- Experience with SQL
- Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum environments
- Interest in pursuing Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL-300)
- Master's degree preferred
- Exposure to UI/UX or user-centered design concepts
