Role: QA Automation Lead - Playwright

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end test automation strategy with a primary focus on Playwright-based frameworks.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust automation frameworks for web applications.
- Establish best practices for UI, API, and end-to-end testing using Playwright.
- Drive shift-left testing practices and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.
- Review and improve existing automation suites for reliability, performance, and coverage.
- Mentor and guide QA engineers on automation standards, coding practices, and testing methodologies.
- Define and track quality metrics, test coverage, and defect leakage.
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-platform test coverage using Playwright capabilities.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement preventive quality measures.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in QA, with at least 3+ years in a lead or senior automation role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred).
- Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Expertise in UI automation, API testing, and end-to-end testing strategies.
- Knowledge of visual testing tools and accessibility testing.
- Experience integrating Playwright tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Solid understanding of test design patterns, page object models, and modular frameworks.
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and code review processes.
- Strong debugging and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber) in conjunction with Playwright.
- Knowledge of performance and security testing fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure).
- Exposure to containerization tools like Docker.
