System One is a leader in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America. They are seeking a Refueling & Remote Handling Engineer to lead the development of solutions for complex engineering problems related to reactor servicing tools and inspection systems, while also mentoring other engineers and managing complex assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of resolutions to complex problems requiring creativity and innovation in reactor servicing tools, inspection equipment, and control systems
- Prepare, review, and check engineering reports, system descriptions, specifications, drawings, calculations, and other design documents focusing on reactor servicing tooling and inspection systems
- Collaborate with the Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Component design organization to ensure interface features meet functional and performance requirements
- Work with Systems Engineering and Operations teams to develop work sequences and handling plans as part of integrated tool design schemes
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and criteria for reactor handling and inspection systems
- Support procurement activities related to equipment design, fabrication, and testing
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing technical guidance and solutions in relevant technical areas
- Mentor and train other engineers to ensure sound problem-solving approaches and adherence to standards
- Manage workload and deadlines independently while performing complex engineering assignments
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering from a four-year college or university
- At least 8 years of full-time, relevant professional experience in engineering design and systems development
- Proven experience in designing mechanical handling equipment and systems
- Proficiency in planning, preparing, and reviewing mechanical design documents
- Experience working in a nuclear operating environment is a plus
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
