They are hiring a Customer Data Platform Engineer to support a major digital marketing and data initiative, focusing on activating customer data through the Segment CDP platform and enabling marketing teams to build targeted audiences and campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Build and manage customer audiences within Segment based on marketing and campaign requirements
- Translate marketing briefs into technical segmentation logic
- Maintain scalable audience structures that support ongoing marketing activation
- Monitor CDP data ingestion and validate that incoming data is accurate and complete
- Identify ingestion failures, missing events, or unexpected data gaps
- Perform platform health checks and ensure audiences reflect correct data inputs
- Establish naming conventions, operational workflows, and quality checks within Segment
- Validate that data in Segment aligns with source systems and upstream data pipelines
- Maintain governance standards that ensure consistent platform use across teams
- Work with unified customer profile concepts and identity stitching logic
- Ensure segmentation rules reflect correct customer identity resolution across identifiers
- Validate that audience definitions align with the underlying data model
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to support campaign activation use cases
- Provide guidance on how to build and manage audiences within the CDP
- Help improve targeting accuracy and marketing performance through better segmentation practices
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience working with Segment CDP in production environments
- Strong experience building audiences and segmentation logic within a CDP
- Experience monitoring CDP data ingestion and identifying data pipeline issues
- Understanding of identity resolution and unified customer profile concepts
- Experience validating customer data across upstream systems and CDP outputs
- Comfortable working in a marketing technology environment with cross-functional teams
- Experience working with enterprise marketing technology stacks
- Experience supporting marketing activation through CDP platforms
- Experience working with modern data architectures that separate storage from activation platforms
