Honeywell Aerospace is a leader in engineering solutions for critical missions in the defense and aerospace markets. The role involves leading the design and development of digital components for radar and Electronic Warfare applications, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring successful product implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, simulate, design, develop, support implementation, and integration of digital functions and sub-systems into Honeywell products
- Perform requirements specification, digital design, firmware design, simulation, design verification, system integration, and transition to production
- Translate specifications into digital designs including microcontrollers, FPGAs, DRAM, digital synthesizers, A/Ds, D/As, sensors, switching and linear regulators
- Circuit card design including parts selection, schematic entry, and layout oversight
- Partition FPGA architectures and develop and simulate VHDL firmware
- Write and debug embedded code for micro-controllers
- Test and integrate circuit cards / sub-systems / systems
- Interface with complex RF subsystems and/or motion-controlled positioner assemblies
- Author related documentation such as design description documents, verification procedures, etc
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Engineering in high-tech R&D and/or manufacturing companies
- Work experience in electronic product design and development
- Experience in all phases of circuit card development from inception through production (architecture, schematics, layout, debug and documentation), and FPGA applications
- Direct job experience using Altera Quartus or Xilinx Vivado FPGA development tools
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and all other aspects of electrical engineering
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a 'US Person' under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- Two (2) years of experience working with RF/Microwave systems, analog to digital converters (ADCs), digital to analog converters (DACs) or knowledge of RF front end signal flow
- One (1) year of experience in system engineering with one or more of the following modeling and design tools: MATLAB, Simulink, Xilinx System Generator or Altera Platform Designer
- Experience taking a design from concept to production
- Knowledge of high-speed digital and/or analog design
- Proficiency with Xilinx Vivado and Altera Quartus tool sets
- Knowledge of I2C, SPI, JESD204, PCI Express, and Ethernet interfaces and standards
- Experience using coding and scripting languages: C/C++, Python, Lua, TCL
- Experience with prototype assembly, turn-on, and debug in a laboratory environment
- Awareness of radar, EW/ELINT/SIGINT, and communications are a plus
- Experience working in and driving results for a matrix organization
- Active security clearance
- Prior experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry
