About this role
Apetan Consulting LLC is seeking a Manager – IT Engineering (Cloud Systems) to lead the design, implementation, and operations of cloud-based infrastructure and platforms. This role involves managing engineering teams, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and security, while driving cloud strategy aligned with business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and deployment of cloud infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Manage day-to-day operations of cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Oversee cloud architecture, scalability, availability, and performance
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers and administrators
- Implement cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks
- Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
- Monitor system performance, costs, and optimize cloud usage
- Ensure disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams
- Manage vendors, budgets, and cloud-related projects
- Establish best practices, standards, and documentation
Requirements:
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture and design patterns
- Experience with virtualization, containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of networking, security, and identity management in cloud
- Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Leadership and team management experience
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud-native tools)
- Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
