Golden Technology is a trusted partner for Fortune 500 clients, known for its family-first culture and community initiatives. They are seeking a Senior Real-Time Video Engineer to develop and optimize real-time video processing pipelines for mobile and embedded platforms, ensuring high performance and low latency.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize real-time, low-latency, on-device video processing pipelines, ensuring high performance across mobile and embedded platforms
- Work with advanced graphics and compute technologies to deliver high-resolution, high-frame-rate video experiences while minimizing latency across capture, encoding, transport, and rendering stages
- Collaborate on platform-specific implementations for Android and iOS, focusing on efficient video handling in constrained environments
Requirements:
- Real time, on-device video processing
- Proven experience developing real-time, low-latency video pipelines where all processing occurs fully on-device, not in post-processing or cloud environments
- Low-latency pipeline design
- Ability to demonstrate past projects where the team achieved specific end-to-end (glass-to-glass) latency targets, including: Actual latency achieved (e.g., Techniques used to minimize capture, encode, transport, and render delays
- High resolution and high frame rate video
- Experience handling: Resolution such as 1080p, 2K, 4K
- High FPS streaming (30 / 60 / 120 fps)
- Multiple simultaneous camera inputs (multi-lens / stereoscopic / 360°)
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Metal (for iOS video rendering / GPU compute), OpenGL ES, Vulkan, Custom GPU or CPU accelerated video pipelines, Zero-copy buffers, DSP acceleration, or hardware codecs
- Android experience with camera frameworks such as: Camera2 / CameraX, MediaCodec / MediaPipe, SurfaceTexture, ImageReader, and hardware-accelerated rendering paths
- iOS experience (required or strongly preferred): AVFoundation (capture, buffering, synchronization), Core Video / Core Media, Metal-based processing
- Experience optimizing video on constrained or mobile devices
- Building video pipelines for HMI systems, automotive, industrial, AR/VR, or consumer electronics
- Handling constrained environments with tight CPU/GPU and thermal budgets
- Creating custom image processing or computer vision modules (optional)
