Apetan Consulting LLC is seeking a Senior Robotics / Autonomy Engineer to design and develop intelligent robotic and autonomous systems leveraging AI, sensor fusion, and edge computing. This role focuses on building real-time perception, decision-making, and control systems for robotics applications such as autonomous vehicles, drones, or industrial robots.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop autonomous system architectures for robotics platforms
- Implement AI/ML models for perception, object detection, and decision-making
- Develop sensor fusion algorithms using data from LiDAR, cameras, radar, and IMUs
- Build real-time processing pipelines on edge devices
- Develop and optimize control algorithms for navigation and motion planning
- Integrate software with robotics hardware and embedded systems
- Work with robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS/ROS2)
- Perform simulation, testing, and validation of autonomous systems
- Optimize performance for latency, power, and compute constraints
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, AI, software)
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership
Requirements:
- Strong programming skills in C++
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience with robotics frameworks (ROS/ROS2)
- Solid understanding of AI/ML, computer vision, and deep learning
- Experience with sensor technologies (LiDAR, camera, radar, IMU)
- Knowledge of control systems, kinematics, and path planning
- Familiarity with edge computing platforms (NVIDIA Jetson, embedded Linux)
- Strong understanding of real-time systems and performance optimization
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills
- Master's or PhD in Robotics, AI, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, drones, or industrial robotics
- Knowledge of SLAM, localization, and mapping techniques
- Experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, CARLA)
- Familiarity with GPU acceleration (CUDA, TensorRT)
- Exposure to cloud-edge integration and MLOps pipelines
