Optum is part of UnitedHealth Group, dedicated to simplifying workforce health programs. They are seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer - Windows On-Prem to design, develop, and maintain automated build and release structures within their agile teams, ensuring quality products through DevOps practices.
Responsibilities:
- Support a learning organization model through coaching, training, and mentorship
- Adapt as necessary for unintended consequences of this change initiative and one that understands the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
- Work in a DevOps team environment on both tactical and strategic assignments
- Handle manual work while figuring out how to automate it
- Take a project from inception to production and lead a team of variant applications to successful automated deployments
Requirements:
- 6+ years of IT experience on web-based products
- 4+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting language
- 4+ years of experience with Windows based on-prem hosted applications
- 4+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, including building, managing, and troubleshooting YAML pipelines
- 2+ years of experience with DevOps teams, Agile methodologies, and Test-Driven Development
- 2+ years of experience with continuous integration tools (like Octopus Deploy)
- Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development lifecycle to improve quality and efficiency
- Experience leveraging load balancing tools and different deployment models
- Ability to travel to the La Crosse, WI office up to 25% as needed

- 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple team projects
- 1+ years of experience with programmatic interaction with a relational database, preferably a recent version of SQL Server
- Experience in at least one high level programming language such as .NET, VB.NET, C#
- Experience with modern source control systems (i.e.. Git)
- Proven solid understanding of database technologies (MSSQL) with database change automation experience
- Infrastructure as code experience with some programming background either as a release engineer or developer
- Proven self-starter and willing to take on new responsibilities that have not been clearly defined
