About this role
Scalence L.L.C. is a company specializing in engineering solutions, and they are seeking an Engineer-Transport - III to manage the life cycle of service orders. The role involves provisioning service orders, circuit design, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards while collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provisioning of all service orders, including but not limited to TDM (T1/T3), Ethernet & Dark Fiber services
- Circuit design utilizing TIRKS (Trunk Integrated Record Keeping System)
- Equipment design utilizing the Intelligent Edge Network (iEN) and GPON network
- Creation of legacy transport systems utilizing TIRKS
- Determine routing of high-capacity circuits over fiber & GPON networks
- Responsible for equipment configurations and card/port assignments
- Manage multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, and decommissioning
- Manage design requirements for circuit additions, upgrades, outside moves, repairs & rearrangements
- Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards
- Coordinate and drive engineering issues to resolution
- Maintain excellent communication with field engineering, cross-functional team members, and direct management to ensure early identification of issues and timely resolution
- Collaborate with Construction, ISP Planning teams, VPS, and OCO
Requirements:
- Proficiency in TIRKS
- OSP Engineering background
- Proficient computer skills (Windows-based programs and corporate database systems)
- Demonstrated knowledge of circuit design, SONET, TDM, T1s, ISDN
- Strong working knowledge of SONET equipment – Fujitsu, Ciena, Cisco, Tellabs, Alcatel Client, & Adtran
- Strong skills in oral and written communications, attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and organize work tasks
- Ability to re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time-sensitive issues and mandated deadlines
- Effective interpersonal skills to interact successfully with customers, management, and team members to deliver customer satisfaction
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields
- CAD Drawing – IDDS (Intelligent Design and Drafting System) / ICGS (Interactive Computer Graphics System) Telecommunication engineering system
