Senior Software Engineer (Rust/C++) - Large-Scale Distributed Systems

UMATR is a small, highly technical team of engineers building developer-first infrastructure tools from the ground up. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and develop a next-generation backend platform that processes large volumes of data in real time, focusing on performance and scalability.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll be building a next-generation backend platform designed to query and process huge volumes of data in real time
• Designing systems that can scan terabytes (and beyond) of data in seconds
• Building high-performance services in systems-level languages
• Developing distributed architectures that scale seamlessly under extreme load
• Rethinking how data is indexed, stored, and queried at massive scale
• Working on serverless and cloud-native infrastructure to push performance and cost efficiency to the limit
• Debugging distributed systems, security analysis, and real-time insights across enormous datasets - all powered by ultra-fast backend systems

Requirements:

• 5+ years building backend systems in production environments
• Strong experience with at least one systems language (Rust, Go, C/C++, etc.)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, data infrastructure, or databases
• Experience working with large-scale systems or high-throughput services
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, early-stage environments
• You care about performance, scalability, and clean system design
