Senior Backend Engineer – ServiceNow Platform (705)

Scalence L.L.C. is a company seeking a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in the ServiceNow platform. The role involves designing and building event ingestion and processing systems for Windows environments, along with developing production-grade solutions and owning the end-to-end process.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement backend systems that ingest, process, and analyze events from Windows client/server applications
• Build and maintain custom ServiceNow platform solutions (scripting, integrations, platform services)
• Translate product requirements into scalable, well-architected technical designs
• Own quality through automated testing, code/design reviews, CI/CD, and production readiness
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues spanning Windows environments, backend services, and ServiceNow
• Build lightweight UI components where needed to support backend functionality
• Apply AI assisted tools pragmatically in engineering or data workflows

Requirements:

• 6+ years professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals: system design, data structures, testing, CI/CD
• Hands‐on ServiceNow custom development experience (beyond admin/config)
• Experience with event-driven or telemetry-based systems
• Working knowledge of Windows environments, including how applications emit and consume system events
• Proven ability to debug distributed systems end-to-end
• Comfortable operating in a high‐bar, product engineering environment
• Experience with C++ and/or C# in production systems
• Background in monitoring, discovery, observability, or event pipelines
• UI development experience (ServiceNow UI Builder, modern web UI)
• Prior exposure to AI assisted engineering or data analysis workflows
