McGraw Hill is a global leader in education, dedicated to empowering learners and educators. As a UX Designer for the 'Sharpen' platform, you will craft intuitive user experiences that directly impact learners and institutions, while collaborating with agile teams and conducting user research.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with agile teams to create mockups and specifications for developers, ensuring seamless implementation
- Utilizing and contributing to McGraw Hill’s design system, maintaining consistency across digital products
- Partnering with researchers to conduct user research and iterating designs based on findings
- Staying updated on competitor products and industry trends to ensure McGraw Hill remains at the forefront of innovation
- Fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration within the design team while maintaining a big-picture awareness across projects
Requirements:
- BA/BFA degree in Design, HCI, CS, or equivalent experience in related fields
- 3-5+ years of UX design experience, preferably in designing complex solutions for digital applications across web and mobile platforms
- Applications without portfolio will not be considered
- Self-driven and adaptable to a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
- Varied experience across digital applications, with a focus on creating intuitive and functional consumer-facing user interfaces
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment
- Expertise in UX design processes, including wireframing, prototyping, and delivering design specifications
- Proficiency in standard UX software such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices and standards, ensuring inclusive design
- A fundamental understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (preferred but not required)
- Experience in EdTech or designing complex solutions for digital environments is a plus
