Brandes Associates Inc. is a defense contractor seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support mission planning products. The role involves end-to-end lifecycle systems engineering, leading teams, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
Responsibilities:
- Support end-to-end lifecycle systems engineering, from concept development through field deployment and system life cycle support
- Provide support as a Mission Planning Environment (MPE) Systems Engineering Lead
- Assist leadership in orchestrating team efforts to obtain milestone objectives
- Assist in the investigation of relevant technologies for potential future integration
- Assist in Use Case development for Mission Planning system capabilities
- Work closely with active-duty personnel to ensure understanding of requirements
- Assist in hardware, software, and documentation development, test and procurement planning efforts
- Assist in the planning, organizing, and managing of technical and engineering functions relating to the design and development of information management security systems
- Provide support for the analysis, recommendation, design, and prototype of future software, system components, digital products, and data systems for use with current and emerging technologies
- Provide support for cost analysis of hardware procurement and project execution
- Assist in monitoring project execution and cost
- Evaluate integrated systems designs for human factors compatibility
- Manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for system upgrades and shepherd ECPs through the engineering Configuration Control Board (CCB) approval process
- Support development and delivery of current and future digital products and data systems software products, digital products, and data systems
- Develop system integration plans and oversee execution, ensuring compliance with Navy standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including non-traditional engineering resources, contractors, and stakeholders, to integrate new technologies
- Coordinate acquisition, procurement, and production of necessary hardware and systems to align with program objectives
- Provide support to observe, detect and resolve compliance issues and security threats utilizing the Continuous Monitoring automated process during each phase of the CI/CD pipeline and ATOs as directed by the and as managed by the SAFe, Agile, Kanban, and/or Scrum processes and backlog
- Support the generation and distribution of regular reports on the state of the CI/CD pipeline and associated control gates
- Provide system product development planning and execution support documentation
- Create and update data flow diagrams to document and improve understanding of information management across multiple unclassified and classified systems for geographically dispersed organizations
- Coordinate integration and test activities for completion of products
- Lead System Engineering Review Boards (SERBs) to analyze and prioritize deficiencies, identify mitigations to the deficiencies, and coordinate for appropriate fixes
- Contribute to the creation of test documentation in support of test and fleet events, and support generation of test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports
- Provide support for the testing of digital products and data systems
- Participate in the Security & Information Assurance Requirements Management Team
- Support deployment, update, and maintenance of In-Service products
- Manage development and provide technical recommendations to system configurations and system support manuals
- Support the development, update, and management of program plans, reports, and technical documentation
- Develop Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), short and long-range project plans, and capability roadmaps
- Assist in generation of Statements of Work
- Draft project budgets, program briefings, and risk assessments for NAVAIR, CNO, and Congressional staff
- Develop TEMP Annexes
- Assist in the update and maintenance of the program Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and key management plans
- Draft Systems Security Authorization Agreements (SSAA) for Trusted MPEs
- Manage and track project design, system configurations, and user documentation plans
- Assist in the management and periodic update of the system Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and systems use cases
- Translate the system CONOPS and use cases into system-level requirements and constraints
- Prepare and present project status reports, recommendations, and proposals to senior leadership and external stakeholders
- Develop technical white papers
- Prepare monthly CDRL reports10+ years of experience performing the duties described in the functional descriptionSkills applicable to program management, financial analysis, and compliance with MIL-STD defense regulations
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience performing the duties described in the functional description
- Degree MS or MA degree in Systems Engineering or a relevant technical discipline
- An additional 4 years of relevant work experience, with a bachelor's degree, may be substituted for a master's degree
- Applicant must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- The applicant must have US citizenship at the time of application
- Demonstrated ability to lead classified and sensitive military programs
- Demonstrated leadership in risk assessment, problem resolution, and optimizing mission-critical systems
