Rackspace Technology is seeking a Network Security Engineer to be a key element within the support infrastructure team. The role involves providing high-level technical support to customers, troubleshooting network environments, and supporting the Rackspace Cloud product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Be the technical point of escalation to the Cloud Support and Engineering teams; resolving customer issues
- Monitor and provide maintenance for all related infrastructure
- Ensure the control, integrity, and accessibility of the cloud environment
- Implements large, complex enterprise-class solutions
- Lead tasks relating to system architecture enhancements, problem management, fleet
- Lead Workload/Workforce Management and Optimization related tasks
- Provide technical expertise underpinning communications targeting a range of stakeholders - from individual contributors to leaders across the business
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Business Development Consultants to build strong customer relationships
- Share knowledge with other Engineers and Administrators on the support floor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma is required
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work with F5 load balancers
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- AWS Cloud experience
- Knowledge and experience with ethical hacking, firewall and intrusion detection/prevention technologies, secure coding practices and threat modeling
- Advance knowledge and experience of virtualization technologies, Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
- Advance knowledge and experience of network and server hardware infrastructures and storage technologies (NAS, SAN)
- Experience with designing secure network architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, DNS, SOA, database and web applications
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex scenarios with clear solutions
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study is preferred
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Next-Generation Firewall Engineer (PCNSE) certification is preferred
