AmeriHealth Caritas is seeking a Senior Business Insights Analyst who will partner with operational business owners to evaluate the cost and utilization impact of new initiatives. The role involves developing analytic strategies that provide actionable insights and visualizations while serving as a consultative partner throughout value-optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting ideation by pulling data to identify addressable spend associated with an initiative concept/hypothesis
- Assessing the return-on-investment (ROI) of new initiatives by evaluating potential outcomes and conducting a thorough analysis of relevant claims data, as well as related operational metrics, such as pre-authorization statistics
- Creating written business cases, summarizing the results of each sizing analysis, in alignment with audit processes and requirements
- Providing recommendations to leadership on the prioritization of value optimization initiatives
- Tracking performance of launched initiatives, including the development of reporting on initiative savings and operational key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Deliver ad hoc analyses that summarize initiative impacts and inform stakeholder and leadership discussions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, analytics, research, or a closely related field
- 8 plus years of work experience in the healthcare industry
- 5 plus years of healthcare analytics experience
- Proficiency in SQL and databases, with working knowledge of Python, SAS, and statistical analysis techniques
- Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen by synthesizing multiple analytic and business insights into a clear, cohesive narrative
- Broad understanding of the healthcare payer value chain and medical cost levers
- Strong ability to develop clear, impactful documentation that communicates insights, analyses, and recommendations
- Proven skill in framing and tailoring insights and recommendations for executive and senior leadership audiences
- Ability to scope analytical work, design structured research and analysis approaches, and ensure quality and accuracy of results
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to structure and analyze complex business questions
- Ability to translate complex data and analytic outputs into actionable business insights
- Experience managing and coordinating work across cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
- Expertise in translating complex data and analytic findings into actionable business insights, visualizations, and executive‑ready documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to frame insights and recommendations for senior and cross‑functional leadership audiences
- Experience developing written business cases, evaluation frameworks, and performance monitoring plans aligned with audit and governance requirements
- Ability to manage and coordinate work across cross‑functional teams, influence without direct authority, and collaborate effectively with operational stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, perform ad hoc analyses, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Master's degree or higher
