
Description
· Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
· Serve food and drinks in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
· Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and dietary options.
· Ensure guest satisfaction by checking in throughout the meal and addressing any needs.
· Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure correct and timely order delivery.
· Handle payments, issue receipts, return change, or process credit cards.
· Maintain cleanliness of tables, stations, and service areas.
· Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
· Greet all guests in a warm and enthusiastic manner and assist the host or hostess in seating guests as needed.
· Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, service, appropriate wines, and food preparation.
· Memorize menu selections and wines, including being familiar with daily specials and basic ingredients.
· Use proper verbiage and etiquette, including serving ladies first.
· Write the order in an order notebook. Repeat the order back to guests for clarity.
· Relay orders to the kitchen and service bar utilizing the point-of-sale system.
· Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when the meal has been completed for guest checkout.
· Total the bill and accept payment or refer the guest to the cashier.
· Ladle soup, portion pies and desserts, and brew coffee.
· Notify a manager immediately of any guest complaints.
· Use proper etiquette guidelines for seating guests.
· Practice and observe all safety rules and procedures.
· Assist all service personnel in any duties as requested.
Maintain and follow all cash handling procedures.
Requirements
· Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
· Must know applicable Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
· Must have good mathematical and computer skills.
· High school education preferred. Relevant training and experience required.
· Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates.
· CPR training and first aid training preferred.
Additional language ability preferred.
