Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses that aims to increase the GDP of the internet. As an Engineering Program Manager within the Infrastructure team, you will lead cross-cutting programs for IT and work tracking solutions, partnering with engineering teams to enhance Corporate Technology at Stripe.
Responsibilities:
- Define and produce high quality written proposals, communications and documentation
- Develop, implement, and iterate on program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs to achieve goals with well defined success criteria
- Help influence peers / stakeholders and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity
- Lead program status reviews and prepare regular stakeholder and executive communications
- Effectively set timelines and manage cross-functional project teams to deadlines through the proactive management of blockers, scope, shifting priorities, and risks
- Interface with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders across Stripe
- Propose, refine and implement process improvements and drive efficiencies across Corporate Technology
- Effectively manage change, shift gears comfortably, decide and act without having the total picture, and handle risk and uncertainty
Requirements:
- 2+ years of software engineering, systems engineering and/or program management experience
- Excellent analytical skills; you digest complex information, can distill it and make recommendations and proposals
- You have a track record of providing program management during all phases of software development from kick-off to launch, demonstrating critical thinking, challenging the norms and thought leadership
- You have very strong written and verbal communication skills, building strong relationships with stakeholders, teams and senior leaders around the organization
- You can drive internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions and bring a wealth of experience, opinions, proposals and best practices
- Experience operating autonomously and rapidly and leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and functions, with stakeholders in different disciplines across time zones
- You are comfortable working with geographically distributed teams
- You are empathetic to customer needs but visionary enough to not just deliver a faster horse
- You are excited about collaborating with teammates across Stripe's organization
