MOUNTAIN, LTD. is a telecommunications service provider with over 40 years of experience, seeking an OSP Engineer II to work remotely. The role involves performing detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks, including estimating, designing, and ensuring quality control of projects related to copper and fiber cables.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed outside plant facility engineering tasks that includes estimating, analyzing, designing, planning, budget tracking estimates against actual costs for copper and fiber cables, poles, direct buried and conduit systems
- Prepare and interpret engineering plans, drawings and reports; prepare loop loss design for load and repeater electronics, plan and design field mounted switch serving areas, perform pole, conduit and buried facility design measurements to support company and industry OSP design standards and economic feasibility studies
- Develop and track specific job budgets
- Conduct periodic job inspections and quality control
- Prepare/organize permit packages for submittal to the appropriate entities, maintaining complex files, keeping records, searching, and investigating information contained in files, processing departmental documents requiring specific knowledge of functional operations, posting records including accounting and continuing property records, typing correspondence and reports from rough drafts, and assisting engineers as requested
Requirements:
- Ability to identify existing voice/data plant, electric, and other utilities on the site plans as well as in the field
- Ability to indicate existing voice/data plant location and relocate facilities and knowledge of obtaining right of ways and easements where required
- Knowledge of obtaining right of ways and easements where required
- Must be capable of engineering routine and specific COE/OSP work orders, including more complex projects such as road moves, etc
- Must have an expert knowledge of COE/OSP principles, work order procedures, voice/data industry standards, PC applications, and COE/OSP record and/or computer aided drafting systems
- Must have own tools such as a measuring wheel, height stock, pull finder, laptop, etc
- Experience/Understanding with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) for engineering requirements
