They are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead front-end engineering teams, ensuring high-quality digital experiences and effective execution of enterprise initiatives while collaborating closely with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop multiple engineering teams (8–20+ engineers total scope)
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Architecture to shape roadmaps and technical direction
- Improve execution predictability, quality, and velocity across teams
- Establish strong engineering practices (SDLC, testing, observability, reliability, operational excellence)
- Create a healthy, accountable, high-trust team culture where individuals and teams can realize their full potential
- Manage cross-portfolio dependencies and stakeholder alignment
- Use data and metrics to inform decisions and continuously improve outcomes
- Manage, support, and evaluate engineers’ performance
- Hire new talent for the team and offer coaching and development opportunities
- Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders, and contractors
- Provide input in strategic technical decisions and solutions, when needed
- Provide technical guidance & support in all phases of SDLC
- Ensure delivery of high-quality products
- Identify production and non-production application issues
- Evaluate information and solve complex problems
- Understand complex systems and pay attention to details to avoid issues and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Be an advocate of security best practices, champion and support the importance of security within engineering
Requirements:
- 7+ years of overall IT/development experience on building enterprise class frontend applications to support member facing web applications
- 2+ years of experience in a management role or leading software development team directly or indirectly which includes FTEs and onshore/nearshore/offshore consultants
- 2+ years of experience with modern web/mobile/cloud architectures and distributed systems
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
- Understanding of SDLC best practices, CI/CD, testing strategies, reliability, and performance
- Experience driving operational excellence (incident response, RCA, stability improvements)
- Experience in SAFe Agile work environments
- Proven experience leading multiple teams or a portfolio
- Demonstrated ownership of delivery for complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Track record of improving team performance through process, coaching, and systems thinking
- Experience with AI/ML or emerging technologies
- Bias toward action and accountability
- Strong prioritization and decision-making skills
- Comfortable having tough performance conversations
- Experience influencing without authority across teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Data-driven mindset (uses metrics to guide improvement)
