Job Purpose or Objective(s): You will be responsible for guest engagement and overall quality and satisfaction of the coffee shop. You will also model and act according to the Starbucks guiding principle (if applicable based on venue), and the Choctaw Casino & Resort mission statement. You will report to the Venue Manager.
Primary Tasks:
- Take orders and fulfill orders correctly and promptly.
- Promote the Choctaw Culture and the mission of Starbucks.
- Adhere by the cash handle audit policy.
- Maintain all Barista steps of service.
- Attend all Starbucks training and department meetings.
- Always provide excellent guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and a safe, hazard-free work environment within responsibilities.
- Inform management of any product shortages, equipment failures or staffing issues promptly.
- Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Serve Safe Certification
- Handle cash and all other tender methods and be able to make change
- Knowledge of drink recipes and how to make each beverage and how each machine functions
- (If Applicable based on Venue) Must be 21 years of age or older
- (If Applicable based on Venue) ABLE Certification
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee and tea beverages, ensuring each cup is a masterpiece.
- Engage with customers, offering friendly and efficient service to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to the highest health and safety standards.
- Operate coffee machines with precision, ensuring they are well-maintained and ready for the next shift.
- Promote and upsell specialty coffee items, introducing guests to new and exciting flavors.
- Assist in managing stock levels, ensuring we always have the ingredients needed for our coffee creations.
- Collaborate with the team during busy periods, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
- Handle customer inquiries with patience and knowledge, providing accurate information about our coffee menu.
- Adhere to all company policies, including cash handling and security protocols.
- Continuously learn and adapt to new coffee trends, keeping our menu fresh and innovative.
- Previous experience as a Barista is preferred, but a genuine passion for coffee and customer service is a must.
- An upbeat and positive attitude, with a genuine desire to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Excellent communication skills, allowing you to connect with customers and work seamlessly with the team.
- Knowledge of coffee and tea beverages, including various brewing methods and flavor profiles.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and providing change to customers.
- Ability to work overnight shifts consistently and maintain a reliable work schedule.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated with the latest coffee trends and menu innovations.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting tasks.
- A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
- A deep love for coffee and a desire to be part of a dynamic and passionate coffee culture.
