EPITEC is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer for Meta’s AR Product Team, where you will drive complex PCB layouts incorporating cutting-edge technologies. The role involves managing multiple PCB layout projects, collaborating with engineers and suppliers, and ensuring design verification throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple complex PCB layout projects and provide timely status updates within Meta systems
- Lead PCB designs from kick?off through tape?out, including rigid, rigid?flex, and flex PCBs for product and non?product/test projects
- Schedule and drive project meetings (Kick?off, Placement, Constraint, and Design Reviews) to ensure design verification using Meta’s Design Traveler document
- Create and modify engineering tool project templates, metadata, configuration data, and rules
- Apply electrical engineering principles related to power distribution, high?speed circuits, and RF signals
- Proactively identify execution risks or delays and partner with managers or TPMs to propose alternate PCB development workflow solutions
- Propose practical fit, form, and function solutions supporting aggressive miniaturization requirements
- Partner with EE Leads, Mechanical Engineering, TPMs, and cross?functional teams to resolve design issues
- Work with internal DFM engineers to confirm supplier requirements at project launch
- Engage external suppliers and SQE/PE teams to resolve DFM issues and support high?yield builds
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in complex PCB design
- 5+ years of experience using Cadence Allegro PCB Design Tools (v23.1 or newer)
- Senior-level experience with Cadence Allegro (v21+)
- Rigid-flex and flexible circuit design experience
- HDI (high-density interconnect) PCB design experience
- Strong overall PCB layout and design background for complex boards
- Strong understanding of the mechanical aspects of electronics design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience implementing miniaturization solutions in dense form-factor designs (e.g., wearable products, mobile devices)
- Manufacturing or process exposure with a design-for-manufacturability mindset
- Experience driving production efficiency or continuous improvement efforts
- Strong collaboration skills across design and manufacturing teams
