Advanced Wireless Communications (AWC) is one of the largest integrators and managed service providers for two-way radio networks in the U.S. They are seeking an experienced DAS Project Manager to oversee project implementations for wireless in-building networks. This role involves managing project documentation, resources, schedules, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Review and verify project design, scope, and quote with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, tasks, constraints, risks, timelines, and deliverables
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation using AWC’s internal file system
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Determine and assess resources required to complete project scope, including subcontractors, technicians, A&E, and third parties
- Develop project schedules, trackers, safety plans, submittals, and supporting documentation to ensure project success
- Set and continuously manage project expectations with internal teams and customers
- Attend virtual and in-person team and stakeholder meetings
- Perform site visits for pre-construction, QA/QC, punch walks, and documentation for deliverables or scope additions
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Warehouse teams for materials, equipment, and subcontractor releases
- Conduct subcontractor scope reviews as needed
- Deliver project milestone updates with completion tracking
- Track project financial health, including billing, vendor payments, cost logs, and scope changes; develop cost estimates and implement corrective actions as needed
- Ensure Implementation/Service Manager and customer are informed of issues impacting schedule or budget
- Create and track RFIs, submittals, and cost logs
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols (JSAs, PPE, toolbox talks), proper resourcing, and installation quality aligned with AWC’s 'Gold Standard'
- Track milestones and coordinate post-construction activities including commissioning, integration, optimization, data collection, inspections, and acceptance testing
- Manage project deliverables and ensure timely completion of closeout packages and customer delivery
- Coach and motivate project team members and subcontractors to drive accountability and performance
- Build and maintain strong business relationships critical to project success
- Continuously improve AWC project management practices based on lessons learned
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3–5 years of project management experience with a strong technical background (fire, telecommunications, or engineering preferred)
- Customer-facing project management experience
- PMP, CAPM, or NICET-IBPSC certification (or in progress)
- Background in Public Safety/ERCES, DAS, Small Cell, or low-voltage installation
- Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, and NEC codes as they relate to AWC projects
- Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents
- Ability to define and track project financials
- Ability to interpret and create project schedules
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to meet customer deadlines and serve as the front line for AWC/customer issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills (Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, project management tools)
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel with a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Ability to occasionally travel to corporate HQ or customer sites
