Key Accountabilities
•Assist the Radiation Protection Supervisors in the direction of day- to- day activities of the Radiation Protection personnel including log review and coordination with other station work groups•Develop and maintain Radiation Protection Department and Safety Services procedures•Coordinate the implementation of the Station’s Radioactive Waste Management; ALARA; Radioactive Material Control; Dosimetry; Respiratory Protection and Effluent & Radiological Environmental Programs•Monitor the effectiveness of the above programs and produce various trend reports•Represent Radiation Protection on the Chemical Overview Group (COG)•Act as Contract Coordinator for various Radiation Protection Contracts •Support Outage planning in the development and execution of radiological support plans•Assist in the development and oversight of Radiation Protection training for Technicians and Radiation WorkersEducation, Experience, & Skill Requirements
•Bachelors of Science degree in Health Physics or Radiation Protection + 4 years related experience –or-•Bachelor’s degree + 6 years related work experience -or-•Associates degree in engineering technology, chemistry, radiation protection or related field + 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification -or-•Navy Nuclear ELT + 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification -or-•11 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification (including at least 2 years of Radiation Protection experience)Key Metrics
