The Program Supplier Assurance Engineer serves as the primary quality interface between Raytheon programs and suppliers, focusing on continuous improvement and performance management in the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous product / process improvements in the supply base by identifying supplier performance issues and driving solutions through root cause corrective actions (RCCA), and statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies
- Ensure flow down of requirements internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, quality notes, and statement of work (SOW)
- Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implement necessary engagements to support APQP. Assess and develop supplier quality capabilities throughout the product lifecycle. Identify and correct systemic performance issues. Implement effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), including FRACAS investigations and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR)
- Identify risk in the supply base and develop a robust plan for engagement. Communicate effectively to Raytheon leadership and customers through business reviews and status meetings. Communicate and interpret technical requirements as the liaison between the supply base and Engineering for drawing changes, and disposition of nonconformances
- Perform Preliminary Review (PR) of nonconforming hardware in the supply base to contain and disposition nonconformances at suppliers, including Supplier Authorization to Ship/Scrap (SATSS)
- Contribute in the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supplier quality performance
- Support supplier maintenance efforts such as audits, special process compliance, and certification management. Drive quality activities and support as part of hardware management teams and participate on a cadence following up on quality initiatives and metrics. Travel 30%
Requirements:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Relevant experience is Quality engineering, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline, and/or Supplier Management
- Experience interpreting schematic drawings and/or hardware inspection techniques
- Experience working with one or more of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools: Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Lean Manufacturing, Control Plans, other process improvement tools
- Experience in problem solving; conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Experience with one or more of the following standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Assurance Provisions, and First Article Inspection (FAI) and the AS9102 standard
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
- Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
- Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/ customers
- Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery
- Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and collaborating remotely
- General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as American National Standards Institute (ANSI), J-STD-001, Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), American Society for Testing of Materials (ASTM), etc.)
- Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor
