Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers. The Systems Engineer will support critical Air Force systems, focusing on system integration, requirements analysis, testing, and continuous improvement to enhance system performance and adaptation processes.
Responsibilities:
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate adaptation solutions into the TACMOR Network services project, ensuring compatibility and performance
- Requirements Analysis: Analyze and interpret system requirements to develop adaptation strategies that meet operational needs
- Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of adaptation solutions to ensure reliability and compliance with industry standards
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues related to system adaptation, providing timely support to maintain system integrity
- Documentation: Prepare detailed documentation of adaptation processes, configurations, and changes for future reference and audits
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to enhance system performance and adaptation processes through innovative solutions
- Provide engineering expertise across the full system lifecycle—from concept and design through deployment and sustainment
- Collaborate with Customer and contractor stakeholders to ensure interoperability, scalability, and mission alignment
- Assess and recommend tools, methodologies, and processes to enhance system development and integration
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including interface control documents (ICDs) and engineering reports
- Participate in technical reviews, readiness assessments, and milestone events
- Analyze system performance and propose optimization strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering discipline such as Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2–6 years of experience
- U.S. citizenship (required by contract)
- Active DoD Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain after start
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, integration and test, and configuration control
- Familiarity with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies (e.g., Cameo, SysML)
- Experience working within DoD or Intelligence Community environments
- Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence), Microsoft Office Suite, and collaboration platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional certifications such as OCSMP certs for MBSE, INCOSE SEP
- Knowledge in optical, ethernet and routing networks such as designs, configurations, and maintenance
- Knowledge in SATCOM designs and services
