Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence. They are seeking a Software Integration & Test Engineer to support Software Integration Test and Check Out activities for a satellite ground system development program supporting NOAA, involving collaboration across various functional elements and ensuring successful software integration and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform system level software integration and test (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications ensuring system compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives
- This includes the test and integration of COTS-based systems and custom software, from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation, and commissioning of the completed system
- Generate test plans and procedures for the verification and validation (V&V) of software components to ensure requirements traceability and test cases to allow requirement V&V
- Support test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports
- Organize, execute, and report on software testing
- Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing and efficient use of resources
- Utilize RedHat Enterprise Linux to resolve configuration issues and integrate Red Hat Linux systems with other existing environments
- Create and modify bash scripts
- Write and edit scripts in Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C, etc
- Utilize JIRA in an Agile development environment
- Support development and maintenance of automated testing
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA
- 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
- Experience with software development methodologies and life cycles; specifications and testing
- Experience developing tests scripts using Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C, etc
- Experience with RedHat Linux
- Experience working in a Cloud Environment using containerization
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
- Extensive experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products
- Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Xray, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.)
- Familiar with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Asset Manager, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, Bitbucket, Git, etc
- Ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance - US Citizenship is required
- Experience working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Experience leading projects and process improvement activities to completion with successful outcomes and delivery of desired results
- Active Public Trust clearance
