Advocate Aurora Health is a leading nonprofit, integrated health system in the United States, and they are seeking a Program Director IV for the Maya Angelou Research Center for Healthy Communities. The role involves leadership responsibilities for managing grant writing, qualitative research, and maintaining collaborative relationships while ensuring adherence to legal guidelines and internal policies.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall administration and coordination of grant and manuscript writing for the Dean of the SOM research program and MARCH. Serves as the expert for the program or functional area
- Continuously analyzes systems and processes while identifying and tracking relevant RFAs as well as manuscripts throughout the submission process. Develops and implements best practices and appropriate changes to improve outcomes in a timely manner
- Creates evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determines the need for improvements/edits to documents for resubmission
- Plans/Leads/Conducts qualitative research and analysis for research projects
- Assists leaders with budget needs and planning
- Ensures program and functional area operations and activities adhere to any legal guidelines and internal policies
- Keeps senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations
- Develops appropriate communication and communication methods to facilitate the flow of information and maximizes effective communication throughout the program
- Facilitates and/or conducts individual and group presentations as needed
- May supervise the work and manage performance of assigned staff such as responsibility for work assignment, performance reviews, and personnel change recommendations
- Participates in committees as appropriate
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Requirements:
- Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) with eight years of progressive and applicable experience in the area to be served required; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Significant experience and documented success in setting strategic direction and delivering on objectives for a business unit, company or academic unit
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of functional area to be served
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong qualitative analysis background
- Strong project and process management skills
- Knowledge of program/project management techniques and methods
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Highly self-motivated professional with ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Ability to achieve results with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytic skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities, work independently and in a matrix-team or collaborative setting
- Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
- Working knowledge of all MS Office applications including Word and PowerPoint
