Senior Software Engineer

Red Hat is the world’s leading provider of enterprise open source software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver high-performing Linux, cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Hybrid Platforms Engineering-Productivity team, where the role involves designing and implementing developer productivity tools and platforms to enhance the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain developer productivity tools and platforms that streamline the software delivery lifecycle for HP teams
• Design, implement, and maintain new AI-supported SDLC workflows
• Build APIs, automation, and CI/CD pipelines that accelerate development and testing workflows across multiple services
• Collaborate with SREs, developers, and quality engineers to improve observability, build reliability, and deployment efficiency
• Contribute to shared infrastructure services such as ephemeral environments, resource modeling APIs, and developer onboarding automation
• Measure and monitor the performance of tools in production to ensure high availability and low latency

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent studies and experience
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Go and/or Python, with strong focus on backend systems and APIs
• Experience developing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton) and modern DevOps workflows
• Familiarity with coding assistants
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams
• Experience developing internal developer platforms or SaaS tooling for engineers
• Familiarity with observability and logging frameworks (Prometheus, Loki, Splunk, CloudWatch)
• Experience with AI-assisted development, productivity analytics, or workflow automation
• Contributions to open source projects or engagement in developer productivity communities
