Octave Technologies Corporation is a purpose-driven company partnering with the US government to create impactful digital solutions. They are seeking a mid-level Full Stack Engineer to work on a healthcare modernization project, focusing on building full-stack web applications and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Build stuff that matters
- Design and ship full-stack web applications using Java, Angular, Spring Boot, and Node.js
- Architect scalable microservices solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker and Kubernetes
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines so your code ships fast and clean
- Own your work
- Collaborate with designers, PMs, and other engineers to define features and ship them
- Hunt down performance bottlenecks, squash bugs, and keep applications fast and responsive
- Write clean, maintainable code and help the team do the same through reviews and automation
- Mentor junior developers—share what you know, help them grow
- Stay current on tech trends and bring fresh ideas to the table (we actually listen)
- Influence technical decisions and contribute to engineering best practices
Requirements:
- 5+ years building full-stack applications with Java, Angular, JavaScript, Spring Boot, and microservices
- Hands-on experience with UI frameworks (Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, etc.)
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Database experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or AWS-managed databases
- DevOps fluency: Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, JUnit
- Experience implementing SOAP, REST, and Bulk APIs
- Deep knowledge of software development principles and best practices
- Agile/SDLC experience—you know how to ship iteratively
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Must have lived in the continental US for at least 3 of the last 5 years
