James Fisher Technologies (JFT) is a reputable provider of remote solutions and specialty engineering services. The Mechanical Engineer II role involves developing engineering solutions from concept through to design, manufacturing, and installation, while supporting project engineering leads and managing CAD data.
Responsibilities:
- Create and develop design concepts into working engineering solutions
- Produce manufacturing detail drawings incorporating limits and fits, welding symbols, geometric tolerances and surface finish
- Provide full engineering calculations to support designs
- Produce technical reports and documents
- Provide technical files in conjunction with the contract and quality program requirements
- Specify components/systems based on calculations and relevant practical experience
- Work as part of a design team and interact with other engineering disciplines
- Support project engineering leads and project managers with technical back up
- Enforce working to processes and procedures
- Assist business development with quotations for new business
- Drive down design times with cost saving innovations
- Manage CAD data and documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical engineering and design experience
- Conversant with nuclear design procedures
- Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes
- Ability to operate both 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D design software packages (Inventor and Vault system/SolidWorks)
- Working knowledge of current design/safety legislation
- Nuclear or high hazardous remote special purpose machinery design experience a plus
- Experience with calculations (FEA, stress/fatigue/vibration analysis) preferred
