BMS / EPMS Engineer (Data Centers)

Plan B Climatech is seeking a BMS/EPMS Engineer with a strong background in data center controls systems design and implementation. This role requires both technical expertise and strategic thinking to deliver high-quality control system solutions while overseeing projects from concept through execution.

Responsibilities:

• Select control system equipment and develop supporting engineering reports
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors
• Develop control system drawings and design packages, including:
• Plans and layouts
• Control panel designs
• Network architecture diagrams (per client standards)
• Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Prepare sequence of operations / controls narratives
• Develop bench testing and commissioning scripts
• Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications
• Write and contribute to control system specifications
• Support system integration across BMS, EPMS, and DCIM platforms

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience with data center infrastructure systems, including: IT equipment and white space environments, Emergency generators and power systems, Air- and water-cooled chillers, Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), Cooling towers and adiabatic systems, CRAH/CRAC units, Liquid cooling and containment systems
• Strong understanding of BMS / EPMS / DCIM / SCADA systems in mission-critical environments
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and facility layouts
• Strong multitasking skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• EIT or PE license
• Experience in data center commissioning or controls integration
• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC)
