About this role
Flying Buttress is focused on supporting clients in the AEC/Design sector, and they are seeking a Systems Engineer with technical expertise and a focus on customer satisfaction. The role involves executing and managing client projects, handling L2/L3 ticket escalations, and serving as a project and escalation engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and manage client projects, including Active Directory to Entra ID migrations and general modernization efforts
- Serve as a project and escalation engineer, with a path to becoming primary engineer on various clients based on geographic location and client size
- Handle L2/L3 ticket escalations across a variety of client environments
- Travel on-site to client locations approximately 2–3 times per year
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a technical role
- Excellent troubleshooting methodology
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on technical diagrams and documentation
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and perform simplistic project management
- Ability to think fast, make sound decisions, and multitask in a dynamic environment
- Strong and proven experience with Microsoft 365 – Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
- Strong and proven experience with Microsoft Endpoint Management – Intune, Defender (EDR)
- Strong and proven experience with Other Endpoint Management – RMM, Common A/V EDR Vendor, Alerting
- Strong and proven experience with Microsoft Server Management
- Strong and proven experience with Microsoft Azure – Basic services architecture and implementation
- Strong and proven experience with Cisco and Meraki – Firewalls, switches, and WAPs
- Strong and proven experience with Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization
- Strong and proven experience with Small/Medium SAN/NAS storage management
- Strong and proven experience with Supporting Windows and Mac client operating systems
- Strong and proven experience with Networking protocols – IPv4, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, etc
- Strong and proven experience with Basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
- Experience working for a Managed Services Provider (MSP)
- Background in the Architectural, Engineering, and Design (AED) sectors
- Active Microsoft Certifications
- Familiarity with Egnyte Cloud File System
- Service / Ticketing Systems
