APTIM is a leading professional solutions firm specializing in environmental, sustainability, resilience, and infrastructure solutions. The Engineering Business Analyst will support the Engineering and GIS teams by acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT, optimizing the application ecosystem and enhancing system functionality.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary IT liaison for Engineering and GIS application domains
- Elicit, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements for engineering systems
- Support governance and optimization of a portfolio of engineering and GIS applications
- Analyze and map engineering workflows and collaborate with IT on implementation strategies
- Support integrations between engineering systems, GIS platforms, and enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, project systems)
- Manage and optimize software licensing, including Autodesk Flex token agreements
- Provide training and ongoing support to end users
- Assist in testing, validation, and deployment of system updates and new capabilities
- Document system processes, changes, and best practices
- Work with vendors and internal teams to maintain system performance and compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, GIS, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting technical or engineering teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard documentation tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively
- Experience with engineering and GIS software ecosystems (Autodesk, Bentley, ESRI, or similar)
- Understanding of application portfolio management and IT governance practices
- Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and data flows
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall delivery methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
