RHR International is a globally respected leadership consulting firm dedicated to helping leaders master the art and science of leadership. They are seeking a Data Analytics Engineer (GCP) to strengthen their analytics foundation in a GCP-first environment, focusing on designing scalable datasets and improving data reliability while owning reporting products.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain curated datasets and reporting/semantic layers (views/models) in GCP, including BigQuery
- Able to write solid production SQL (joins, aggregations; performance-aware patterns as you grow)
- Establish standards for definitions, documentation, and repeatability
- Own and improve dashboards and reporting products (currently including Looker Studio)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define metrics and ensure reporting matches business needs
- Improve dashboard usability and reliability (refresh logic, metric consistency, clarity)
- Build pragmatic automations that reduce manual effort and improve data workflows
- Work where appropriate with Google-native automation patterns (e.g., scheduled jobs, scripts, orchestrated tasks)
- Partner on data movement across SaaS platforms using tools and patterns like Celigo, APIs, webhooks, and imports/exports
- Support analytics needs that require bringing data in/out of vendor platforms (without owning vendor product configuration)
- Help evaluate and recommend the right data platform and BI tooling as needs evolve, balancing usability, cost, security, and maintainability
Requirements:
- Strong analytical and engineering mindset; you build foundations, not just outputs. (5+ years in analytics/data/engineering-adjacent roles)
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure (definitions, documentation, repeatability)
- Data Architecture & Data Modeling (3+ years)
- Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- GCP experience, including BigQuery. (5+ years)
- Comfortable with GitHub and standard development practices. (3+ years)
- Familiarity with secure engineering practices (e.g., secrets management, least privilege, avoiding credentials in source control). (5+ years)
- Expectation: all code in source control (SQL, scripts, docs, lightweight tooling)
- Dashboard/reporting experience (Looker Studio experience is a plus). (1+ years)
- Familiarity with modern data workflows and basic modeling concepts. (2+ years)
- Working proficiency with Python and JavaScript / Google Apps Script for data work (ingestion, transformation, automation). (1+ years)
- Comfort using Docker to run and ship repeatable data tooling. (1+ years)
- Comfortable operating in GCP beyond BigQuery (e.g., Cloud Console, IAM basics, service accounts, scheduled jobs). (2+ years)
- Experience with iPaaS/integration patterns (e.g., Celigo) is a plus
- Exposure to Tableau/Alteryx environments and modernization paths. (1+ years)
- Interest in low-code platforms (e.g., OutSystems) is a plus
- Comfort using AI assistants (including Google Gemini and ChatGPT) to accelerate analysis and development workflows, with good judgment about data sensitivity and safe usage
