Atlas Connections is partnering with a leading developer of large-scale data centers designed for AI and high-performance computing workloads. The Commissioning Manager will oversee commissioning operations for critical facility projects, ensuring systems are installed and validated as designed while managing third-party agents and coordinating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee end-to-end commissioning operations across a portfolio of large-scale critical facility projects
- Serve as the owner's representative for all commissioning activities
- Ensure that mission-critical systems are installed, tested, and validated to perform as designed
- Manage third-party Cx agents, coordinate with construction and engineering teams, and drive commissioning schedules across multiple concurrent builds
- Report directly to senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the commissioning program as the platform continues to scale
Requirements:
- 7+ years of direct data center commissioning experience — this is non-negotiable
- Proven track record managing commissioning on ground-up hyperscale or large-scale critical facility projects (20MW+)
- Deep technical knowledge of mission-critical MEP systems including medium-voltage electrical distribution, generator paralleling, UPS systems, chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, and BMS/EPMS controls
- Experience managing and holding accountable third-party Cx firms, GCs, and MEP subcontractors
- Strong command of commissioning levels (L1–L5), scripting, IST planning, and functional performance testing
- Familiarity with industry standards including ASHRAE, NETA, NFPA 70E, and BICSI
- Ability to manage commissioning across multiple projects simultaneously in various stages of delivery
- Willingness to travel regionally (up to 50%) as project demands require
- Excellent communication skills — you will interface regularly with ownership, construction management, design engineers, and end users
- Experience commissioning AI/HPC-focused facilities with high-density power and liquid cooling infrastructure
- Background with a developer, owner/operator, or Cx firm working on behalf of the owner
- PE, CxA, or NETA certification
- Familiarity with LEED or Uptime Institute Tier certification processes
