Staff Software Engineer

Harnham is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build customer-facing generative AI features used at scale. This product-focused role emphasizes frontend or full-stack development, leading AI initiatives from concept to production while collaborating closely with product and design teams.

Responsibilities:

• Build and ship AI-powered product features end-to-end
• Own the UX of AI experiences (chat, copilots, agents, summarization)
• Take GenAI features from 0→1 and into production
• Work closely with product managers and designers
• Act as a Staff-level technical leader, setting standards and mentoring others
• Help define AI tooling, infrastructure, and best practices

Requirements:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 2–3+ years building GenAI products used by customers
• Proven experience shipping AI features to production (not just prototypes)
• Frontend-leaning or full-stack background
• Strong product and user-first mindset
• Experience integrating LLM APIs and designing AI workflows
• React
• TypeScript
• Cloud experience (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP OK)
• GenAI tooling (e.g., LangChain) is a plus
