Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a PRA Engineer to contribute to risk-informed initiatives in the nuclear sector. The role involves technical analysis, project execution, and collaboration with clients and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions that ensure safety and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, coordinate with diverse engineering teams and ensure project success
- Develop risk-informed approaches to address evolving challenges, preparing engineering calculations and analysis, and performing site visits and walkdowns
- Maintain a working knowledge of the ASME / ANS PRA Standard, related NRC Regulatory Guides, and related NEI or EPRI guidance documents
- Ensure projects are executed within planned scope, budget, and schedule
- Build strong relationships with clients through professional interactions and communications, and through the development of quality engineering products
- Identify and promote opportunities for PRA and related risk-informed application projects
- Identify and promote training and industry interaction opportunities (e.g., owner’s groups, PRA workshops, industry meetings and conferences, professional society meetings)
- Produce high-quality engineering deliverables in accordance with client and ENERCON quality assurance (QA) programs that are consistent with project work scopes and client expectations
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
- At least 6 years of experience in the nuclear industry
- A good understanding of Level 1 PRA tasks (e.g., initiating events analysis, accident sequence analysis, success criteria, systems analysis, human reliability analysis, data analysis, quantification, internal flooding), Level 2 PRA tasks (e.g., plant damage state analysis, containment event tree analysis, MAAP analysis, containment release binning, LERF analysis, containment safeguards system analysis), and external events (e.g., fire PRA, seismic PRA, high winds PRA, other external events) is desired
- Experience with the EPRI Risk & Reliability (R&R) software and codes such as Phoenix Risk Architect suite (CAFTA, PRAQuant, UNCERT, SysImp, FRANX), FTREX, and HRA calculator
- Familiarity with NRC governing codes and standards
- Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message
- Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail
