Principal Software Engineer

People In AI is a high-growth, product-driven AI company building next-generation infrastructure for large-scale, AI-powered digital experiences. The Principal Software Engineer will act as a senior technical leader, owning architecture and execution across a complex, production-grade system, and will be responsible for driving system design and scaling infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Lead architecture and technical direction across frontend, backend, and infrastructure
• Design and scale systems supporting high-volume, real-time AI-driven workloads
• Build and ship end-to-end features across the full stack
• Integrate LLMs and AI systems into production environments
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across distributed systems
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the team
• Partner closely with leadership to shape product and engineering strategy

Requirements:

• Proven ownership of production systems at scale
• Hands-on experience deploying LLMs in real-world applications
• Strong system design skills with a focus on performance and reliability
• Experience in fast-paced, high-ownership environments (startup experience preferred)
• Ability to operate independently and drive complex projects end-to-end
• High agency and a strong bias for action
