Data Engineer

Humana is a leading healthcare services company focused on creating integrated and personalized experiences for patients. The Data Engineer 2 will create scalable data processing architectures and solutions to transform data into insights, utilizing AI, machine learning, and big data techniques to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• You will ingest data from internal and external sources using cloud-native platforms and applies industry-standard software development practices and patterns
• You will develop tools and solutions using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data, allowing Humana to enhance service delivery for members
• You will help shape departmental strategy and make decisions regarding technical approaches to complex project components, exercising considerable latitude in setting goals and methods

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years' technical experience in data analysis or engineering
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Experience assessing complex data sets and conduct root cause analysis
• Utilization of data to inform and drive business outcomes and decisions
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience working with Snowflake Cloud
• Experience with the Azure ecosystem
• Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) framework
